Sneak Peek Review & Swatches: LORAC Champagne Dreams Eyeshadow Palette, ULTA.com Cyber Monday EXCLUSIVE

LORAC Champagne Dreams Cyber Monday Palette

I hate to be a tease, but you won’t be able to get your hands on this until Cyber Monday! Start making your list…

It’s an ulta.com exclusive, and I just know it will sell out in a flash—especially considering it’s just $15. LORAC has lots of tricks up their sleeves for the holiday season, and this little beauty is the Champagne Dreams Eyeshadow Palette. It contains seven nude-inspired hues, six I found to have a nice shimmer, with one being a soft creme demi-satin.

L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Hot Mess Review, Photos, Swatches

LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint Hot Mess

For weeks, I’ve been hearing around the Blogosphere that the new L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints are dupes of another new lip color product from Too Faced that people have already deemed “holy grail status”, the Melted Liquified Long Wearing Lipsticks. While I haven’t had the fortune of trying the Melted lippies yet, I was on a mission to find the L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints in my area, because I had to see if they were the bargain that people were saying that they are! (Plus, the shades looked really pretty!)

I wound up locating them at a small accessories boutique, and wouldn’t you know, they only had two left. One was Hot Mess, this fun orange, and the other was Pin-Up, a red in which I have a dozen other similar shades. So Hot Mess it was!

From previous research, right off the bat, I can tell you the applicators are totally different on Glazed versus Melted. In fact, I don’t recommend applying Glazed directly out of the tube at all, you’ll make a mess! The product has a little bit of a gloppy consistency if you apply it that way, it’s extremely pigmented, and it’s sure to be applied unevenly and will result in bleeding/migration outside of the lip line.  [Read more...]

A Whole ‘Lotta Love for Kelly Yum-Yum from The MAC Osbournes Collection

mac kelly yum yum lipstick 1

Without a doubt, I’m super cray over my favorite piece from the Kelly installment of the recent MAC Osbournes CollectionKelly Yum-Yum lipstick. Okay, so bummer. It’s currently sold out on maccosmetics.com, but that doesn’t mean you can’t charm your way to a tube at a MAC counter somewhere; either at a MAC store, or a department store with a MAC counter. You’d be surprised what you can get with a little bit of sugar versus vinegar! I can’t promise anything, but I swear it will never hurt to try.

Like the rest of Kelly’s part of the collection, the components are purple that mimic her various shades of purple hair she likes to rock. It’s also emblazoned with her signature in red. The interior says “MAC” in purple on the black area where you twist the tube.  I like the small touches of detail of the packaging with this celeb-inspired collection.   [Read more...]

What’s New: Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Gash (LE) Review, Photos, Swatches

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick Gash

About a zillion years ago, when I had my first big girl job with a big girl paycheck, I was obsessed with this new brand called Urban Decay. The line wasn’t very large at the time, but the small offering of shades was very risqué for the time period. I wore Gash lipstick, and you couldn’t tell me ANYTHING! I thought I was just the hottest thing going, in a time period where pretty rose pinks and light browns were prevalent. It really was like my sex-say lipstick training wheels! I eventually moved on to other deep and moody lipsticks after my dark shade introduction, and Gash was eventually retired. Tears were shed.

Until now!

Urban Decay Gash Revolution Lipstick

Gash has long been a favorite of Wende Zomnir (she holds all the power since she’s the brand’s co-founder and CCO). Girlfriend has such rockin’ taste. (You should see her in person! Style out of control!) As it turns out—she really missed Gash too. (And lucky US!) Here’s a shade a LOT of us are happy she’s revisiting. Thanks, Wende! [Read more...]

Urban Decay NAKED3 Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

urban decay naked 3 eyeshadow palette

It’s here! FINALLY! Urban Decay NAKED3 has landed stateside, and I’m so happy to have it in my hot little hands. I’ve played with it for a few days, and here’s what I think…

urban decay naked 3

NAKED3 is a little different than its NAKED predecessors, NAKED1, NAKED2, and NAKED Basics. NAKED3 contains 12 all-new and exclusive eyeshadow shades that take on more of a rosy hue. From pale shimmery pinks to the deepest black matte with red micro-glitter, these are as insanely gorgeous and wearable as the other NAKEDs. There’s a good mix of mattes, pearls, and metallics, which I think Urban Decay does really well. [Read more...]

Urban Decay NAKED Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body Review, Photos, Swatches

urban decay naked illuminated 3

Urban Decay continues to make me NAKED-crazy, especially now that they’ve confirmed that the NAKED 3 palette is really on the way. So what better time to meet one of the newer NAKED partner products, right? Meet NAKED Illuminated. It’s a shimmering face and body powder that gives a fresh-faced, backlit glow.

This baby was baked for 24 hours on a terra-cotta disc, then hand finished. I love baked products because I feel like they last forever since they’re so saturated. NAKED Illuminated is enclosed in a pretty rose-gold box that has two layers. The first is obviously the product and mirror, the second houses a synthetic application brush. Normally I’m not fond of the brushes that come with products because the quality makes them seem like an afterthought. This little brush is nice though, and perfect for sweeping across the high points of the face and on your collarbone.  [Read more...]

Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Holiday Collection Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

too faced a few of my favorite things palette

Joy to the girls!

Too Faced really rocked it this holiday with their Joy to the Girls Collection, and this is probably my favorite piece from the collection, the A Few of my Favorite Things Palette. It’s jam-packed with 20 fantastic eyeshadows, two blush shades, two of their most popular bronzers, a full-size Lip Injection Color Bomb in an exclusive shade (Bee Sting), a deluxe size Better Than Sex mascara, a get-the-look guide, all in a chevron clutch with a pattern by celebrity decorator Mary McDonald. WHEW! That was a mouthful! Let’s take a closer look…

too faced holiday a few of my favorite things palette

Let’s talk eyeshadows for a minute. Too Faced is well-known for their great eyeshadow quality—it’s rare that there’s a total miss—and I truly didn’t feel there was a total miss in this palette. A few of the shades may be a little stiffer than others, but overall, the quality is there, and the pigment payoff is well worth it. While swatching, pigmentation was great on a single pass, and while applying, the pigment both lays down, and blends nicely.  [Read more...]
