Review: Lancome Definicils Precious Cells Mascara

Lancome is known for some pretty rocktastic mascaras, it’s hard not to have very high expectations of the new Lancome Definicils Precious Cells Mascara as a result.  When they launch a new one, I think the pressure is on to make sure they’ve crossed all of their t’s and dotted every i.  So how do you take an established class-act mascara like the original Definicils and make it better?  Add plant cells, hyaluronic acid, and amino acids.

Review: Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara

You know how I am about my mascara, heaven forbid there be a new one that I haven’t tried yet!  You may have seen this one trickle in to stores, Maybelline’s The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara.  It promises to “fill in the gaps” with it’s spoon-shaped brush, resulting in a false lash effect.  Let’s take a look at the wand:

Review: bareMinerals Buzzworthy Collection

This review could also pass as a “Currently Loving” post because I think the new bareMinerals Buzzworthy Collection is that awesome!  Five products (six if you count the lipgloss/lipstick duo separately) for $36 is just ridiculous, and considering what the products are for that price–it becomes stupid ridiculous at that point.

Buzzworthy contains:

• Well Rested SPF 20 Eye Brightener
• High Shine Charisma Eyecolor
• Popular Eyecolor
• Glee Radiance All-Over Face Color
• Double-Ended 100% Natural Lipcolor in Sticky Buns & Lipgloss in Muffin Top

I’m already a long-time Glee Radiance devotee, and I’ve used Well Rested for quite some time.  I wasn’t prepared to lose it over the two eyeshadows in this kit however!

Irish Eyes of March: Maybelline EyeStudio Ivy Icon

In celebration of St. Patty’s Day, this month I’m sharing some of my favorite green eyeshadows!  This week, I paired up Maybelline’s EyeStudio baked eyeshadow duo in Ivy Icon with Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Eggplant.  I also tried out the new Maybelline XXL Pro Extensions mascara for the first time and ran straight to email my bestie that she must run out and buy one…I’m not kidding about that!

I’ve been really happy with everything I’ve tried out of the new EyeStudio range, the Lasting Drama liner does not budge, and the Extensions mascara–you’ll have to pick one up and try it out for yourself!

An editorial sample was provided by the company and evaluated to determine my opinion of the product in this post.  Please see the Disclosures page for further information regarding my policies for using editorial samples.

Check It Out: Real Simple March 2010 Issue

Hey Girlies, I’ve missed you the last few days, I’ve been MIA!  I was hunkered down enjoying a long “happy birthday to me weekend” with some really good reads (and my new iPod Touch).  I’m reading the new Kelly Cutrone book, and I devoured the March issue of Real Simple!  You might want to pick this one up, it’s loaded with easy and affordable real-world beauty recommendations.

With articles like “Beauty Break-throughs” and “Road Test Mascara”, I was having a hard time putting it down!  I’m definitely going to try a few of the products featured–like Le Métier de Beauté’s Magic Lusture Cream, and Macadamia Hair’s Macadamia Natural Oil Infused Comb.  You’ll likely discover a few products you haven’t yet heard of yourself, I’m always open to being enlightened about anything that revolves around products…like the rest of us product junkies!  We want it all!  Well, some of “us” aren’t as extreme!  But  both sides of the fence know their roles, and they do it very well!  Then, we meet in the middle and share our joys all the same, learning a thing or two from eachother along the way!

So if you’re lacking the inspiration to find a new hair look, wonder why the masses find a specific mascara so worthy, or just want some simple and easy tips to make your beauty routine easier–the March issue of Real Simple is worthy of checking out!
