The newly released Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour shades are causing quite a stir, as a matter of fact– the spearmint-hued shade (Jade) is already sold out on the Chanel website! During a time where dark hunter green nail polishes are king (or shall I say– queen), it may seem a little strange to see Jade making an appearance. But then again, Chanel isn’t exactly a “go-with-the-flow” kind of label, are they?
Sadly, I don’t have an in-person perspective to share with you for the Jade shade, but I do have it’s alter ego, Jade Rose to share! The dusty peachy-pink made a splash along with Jade during last month’s NYFW, and here it is up close and personal:
You’ll notice a subtle shimmer in the bottle, but Jade Rose lacks it unless you’re looking closely for it and you’re outdoors. She’s every bit a lady though, and trés trés chic! This warm hue applies sheer, requires 3 coats for coverage, and looks more peach than rose than the name would imply. That’s okay! I love the sophistication and elegance of Jade Rose, and at $25 a pop– not a cheap thrill. Nail polish aficionados will probably go out of their way to acquire these, but you may wish to dupe these as closely as possible. Then, if someone asks you “Is that the new Chanel polish you’re wearing?” You can say “Why yes dahling! This is Jade Rose.” Not that you would ever talk like that with your champagne flute in hand, but I would never tell!
