My inner child is jumping up and down in the aisles at Toys ‘R Us right now, wanting every My Little Pony in sight! China Glaze just released a collection completely devoted to one of my fave 80’s toys, in anticipation of the upcoming My Little Pony movie that will be in theaters in October. Let’s check out the review and swatches!
(All swatches are topped off with Seche Vite top coat.)
One Polished Pony — turquoise frost
This gorgeous softened turquoise almost strikes me as a creme, but when the light hits it, you’ll see little silver glass-y flecks that cast a frost over the finish. This is a two-coater.
Cutie Marks the Spot — pistachio mint creme
Aside from a little bit of patchiness that required a thin third coat, this one was almost perfect.
Kill ‘Em With Kindness — pale yellow creme
This soft lemon yellow creme required a thin third coat to top off just a little bit of patchiness, due to its pale color. I’m still able to achieve dazzling color intensity and opacity.
Sweet as Pinkie Pie — pastel peachy-pink creme
This is a beauty on the nails, and so flattering for all skin tones. I wasn’t expecting to love this one as much as I do, but I have to say, it’s one of my fave shades from the collection. This was a two-coater.
A few of the more bold shades from the collection…
Too Busy Being Awesome — cerulean blue creme
This shade is certainly too busy being awesome! This applied flawlessly in two even coats that self-leveled perfectly. I love, love, LOVE this blue!
Applejack Of My Eye — red-orange creme
This warm red creme is also a two-coater that really pops. And the name? How cute!
She’s a Mane-iac — hot pink satin
This is a satin that’s a little thin on the first coat, but becomes more opaque on the second coat. A thin third coat will amp up color intensity for a more vibrant pink. (Two coats are shown.) As this one dried down, the finish became a little matte — but top coat made it come alive!
I Sea Ponies — silver holo chrome
This one is my fave of the bunch! With just two coats — I achieve a dazzling, fully opaque chrome finish with hints of holo that dance in the light. YAAASSSS!
And now for some more twinkle…
Let Your Twilight Sparkle — purple holographic glitter
I had a lot of fun playing with this one. Two coats are shown. When applied over other shades in the collection, this one gives any of the cremes out-of-this-world shine. See it over ‘Too Busy Being Awesome’ below. There’s just enough transparency in the base to allow this one to play very nicely with others.

I Just Canterlot — violet glitter
This multi-faceted purple glitter has a jelly-like sheer purple base. Two coats are shown. No application issues to report!
Where’s the Party Canon At? — sparkling fuchsia glitter
This shade features bright holo glitter particles in a sheer fuchsia jelly base. Two coats are shown. This looks really pretty over She’s a Mane-iac!
Hay Girl, Hay! — holographic glitter
This icy glitter changes color when you move, depending on how it catches the light. The holographic glitter is in a transparent base — two coats are shown.
There are two bonus shades, and they are available for purchase as a duo. These are inspired by Sia’s pony (she’s featured in the film), Songbird Serenade. I LOVE these so much!
Best Ponies Forever — golden chrome
How gorgeous! Two coats are shown, and this polish has great coverage, and a nice flow that self-levels well. As with most chromes, make sure not to overwork this one. That way, your brush strokes will be minimal.
Songbird Serenede — electric black shimmer
This knocks my socks off! This has multi-colored twinkly glitter, suspended in a shimmering black base. I really wish my camera would have picked this up for you better, but the glitter kept throwing the focus off. I think you get the idea of what a stunner this truly is!
